What to Bring / What to Wear
Food and Drink
Pendley Manor's award winning Oak Restaurant offer's a three course pre-theatre Table d'Hote menu priced at £27.50 per person (price correct at July 2011).
However, if you would prefer to bring a picnic, the grounds will be open from 6pm. Please feel free to bring blankets, chairs, tables, candelabra (it has been known!) and picnic in our beautiful grounds. Please avoid setting up your picnic anywhere that is going to be in the way for other patrons, or indeed in a spot that might be visible from the seating stands or interfere with the performance (again, it has been known!).
The refreshment marquee (or, indeed, Beer Tent) will also be open from 6pm, serving a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks. The tent is also open during the interval. If you wish to stay for a drink after the performance, please use The Shakespeare Bar located inside the Hotel.
The Seating Stands

As of 2011 we have two seating stands, Romeo & Juliet. The two seating stands are identical, each capable of seating around 300 people, and are angled in towards the stage. The front four rows comprise the uncovered seating and sit proud of the marquee cover.
We took the decision to move to two seating stands as a response to audience feedback. We hope that these stands improve comfort and visibility from all angles. Please contact us to give us any feedback you may have about these seating arrangements.
The Weather

Pendley Manor are unable to offer a refund if we cancel due to bad weather. However we've only cancelled twice in 62 years!
If it starts raining, we carry on! If the rain gets so bad that we are worried for the safety of the actors, or the sound of the rain is so heavy on the covered seating that the audience can't hear the actors, then we stop, temporarily. Often a heavy downpour only lasts for a few moments and then eases off or clears up.
With this in mind - please bring everything you may need for any type of weather! You may start the evening needing sunglasses and by the end of the evening need jumpers, coats, gloves and umbrellas!
